{name:Janelle#|#picture:7}Finally having settled into her apartment, she decided she had better get a move on dropping off some resumes. Janelle was extremely nervous, never having had a job before, but she knew she needed work and fast. Deciding the best place to start would be the shopping centre, she drove up to the huge building and parked in the parking lot, walking through crowds of people.
It was pretty cold in the shopping centre, so she decided she would just drop off her resume and quickly leave, but she noticed the book section. Instantly she walked over there, looking over all the books. "I have some extra money, and these look really interesting. Maybe I'll just get one, two at least" she mumbled to herself, skimming through a book she had grabbed off the shelf.

{name:Joelle#|#picture:2}Joelle loved the smell of new books. She also loved the book section of the shopping center. She had just got her paycheck and had money burning a hole in her pocket! She thumbed through a couple books before moving over to a stand that held her favorite author's books. Another girl that looked roughly Joelle's age was leafing through one of the author's newest written works. "Have you read anything by this author before?" she asked quietly.

{name:Janelle#|#picture:7}Janelle looked up, not having even noticed the girl come up beside her. She tried to find words, cursing herself for being so shy when it came to meeting new people. She attempted to calm down, looking up at the girl and smiling warmly. "Only one, but it was so good, I literally could not put it down! I was thinking of getting this one..." she motioned to the book in her hand, trailing off, looking down at it, "Actually, I think I just might! What about you?"

{name:Joelle River#|#picture:2}"She's my favorite author," Joelle replied. "I have all her books! Except that one. Could you pass me a copy?" Joelle smiled politely. So the mystery book girl had excellent taste in books! "By the way what's your name? Mine's Joelle."

{name:Janelle#|#picture:7}Janelle relaxed completely. She had been worried if she'd even be able to make any friends in this new town, but here she was possibly making her first. Grabbing a copy, she handed it over to Joelle, "Janelle. I can see people mixing up our names already, since they're so similar."

{name:Joelle#|#picture:2}Joelle gave a laugh and took the book from Janelle. "Most definatly they will!" Joelle smiled at Janelle. She liked to keep just a small group of close friends but she could see Janelle becoming one of her closest friends! "What other books do you like?" Joelle asked, hopng to continue her conversation with Janelle.

{name:Janelle#|#picture:7}Janelle pondered this for a moment, thinking over everything, "Well, hard to say. I don't really have any exact favourites, I read just about everything." She thought for a second, and then added, "Except for horror books, I'm kind of a chicken I guess you'd say." Janelle gave a little chuckle, smiling some more. She enjoyed talking to Joelle, it was nice to have someone to talk to again.

{name:Joelle#|#picture:2}"Oh me too!" Joelle said, "I hate horror novels! Even mildly scary books leave me so scared I have to sleep with my lamp on!" Joelle Loved that her and Janelle were finding so much common ground! "Have you tried any of Kelley Armstrong's works? They are very good!" Joelle smile wouldn't drop. None of her friends really understood why Joelle loved to read. After about 5 minutes of talking to Janelle she knew that this girl would get it!

{name:Janelle#|#picture:7}"I've heard about them before, but I've never actually had time to grab a book by her. Maybe I should check her out, though. Do you know if there are any of her books here?" Janelle asked, knowing that if Joelle recommended any books they were bound to be good. She got the vibe from her that she was a bookworm, just like herself. Janelle was glad to have someone to talk about books with.

{name:Joelle#|#picture:2}"Oh yeah! She has her own shelf! It's over here." Joelle walked toward a shelf near the back of the Book section. "They couldn't figure out what genre she was so the store just set her up with her own little spot!" Joelle grabbed a book from the shelf. "This ones new! I have to get it!" Joelle looked at the two books in her hands and got a warm fuzzy feeling inside. "Do you have a lot of books?" she asked Janelle

{name:Janelle#|#picture:7}"Not really." Janelle said, walking over to where Joelle was standing and grabbing a copy of the book she was holding, "I mean, I guess I do. I left a lot of my books at home when I moved, only brought along a few with me. I'm thinking about going back to my Mom's soon and grabbing some stuff I left there, I was in a hurry when I moved out so I grabbed only the essentials." Janelle smiled a little sadly, memories of Nathan driving that long drive and helping her move as much as her belongings that his truck could carry into the back, happy that she was finally leaving her over-bearing mother behind.
She attempted to calm down, burying the memories of Nathan again. She didn't want to scare off Joelle by crying about her recent breakup in a shopping centre. She smiled up at Joelle, attempting to reassure her that she was fine if she had noticed anything wrong, "This looks really good, though, I think I'll get it too. Thanks for showing me where to find them."

{name:Joelle#|#picture:2}"Anytime, but Janelle, are you ok?" Joelle asked, seeing the falter in Janelle's smile. "If there is anything you want to talk about? We could go somewhere and sit, drink something?" Joelle could tell something was bothering Janelle and she hated to see a person in pain- physical or emotional.

{name:Janelle#|#picture:7}Janelle thought about it. She didn't exactly feel like talking about it right now, to be completely honest, but she decided it would maybe be a good thing to get off her chest. Joelle's reaction had to be better then Janelle's mothers, who had basically said 'I told you so'. "Maybe some other time, we could go out for coffee? I need to get going, anyway, got some resumes to drop off. Here, I'll give you my number..." Janelle trailed off, hoping she didn't sound creepy giving out her number. Grabbing out her notepad and pen from her purse, she quickly wrote down her number and handed the sheet of paper to Joelle, "Call me tomorrow, we can set up a time to meet." She smiled, waving goodbye to Joelle as she quickly went to pay for the books, dropping off her resume.

{name:Briar Woods#|#picture:5}"Ohmygod! Where is he?" Briar growled and looked at her watch. Ten forty-four. "He said he be here at ten thirty!!" Briar kicked up dust and was yelling at the sky because her brother called for an emergency meeting at the mall. "If he's gonna call me at 2 AM and tell me I have an emergency meeting tomorrow at ten thirty, he had better be here!" Briar screamed as she clenched her fists.
A kid and his mother were now staring at Briar. Briar didn't seem to notice. "What the FUU....." she was about to say before saw Brian finally pull in to the mall parking lot.
