Hey y'all, long time no see! Recently I got a new laptop since my last one went haywire when I went off on a vacation. My last laptop was Windows 7 and I could run the Sims 2 great on there. But now since my laptop is windows 8, I want to know if any of you guys have tried it? I have the Sims 3 and some expansions on it currently, and it runs fine. At first it was messed up but I got it working. I'm not the most computer-savvy person, but I know I have about 360 gigs of free space. Thanks Edit: I tried installation but it keeps stopping at 23%. I googled it and it said to try and clean the disc. I've tried multiple time and I'm still having the same issue. Anyone know how to fix this too?

Wow. I didn't know you could run any of the Sims games on Windows 8 (from what I'd heard, 8 is geared toward tablets and touchscreens, not mouse-driven work). But you'll have plenty of gigs of hard drive space, and I would also guess plenty of RAM--those pretty much aren't even an issue in modern computers anymore. It's most likely an incompatibility issue if you can't get it to install. I'm going to guess that the reason that the installation keeps stopping at 23% isn't that the CD is dirty, either. If you've cleaned it, and if it's not scratched (it could be scratched--my Open for Business CD won't install because of that), then it is most likely just the fact that the Sims 2 isn't compatible with Windows 8. This is the base game, correct, that keeps getting stuck? Have you tried to install it following any sort of TS2/Windows 8 tutorials? I'd suggest that first and foremost. Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with any as I don't have Windows 8, but you can try Googling it. People have undoubtedly come up with ways of getting around this. Let us know how it goes.

Sorry for the delay on a reply, I just got home from a week long vacation. I did get the base game installed after about two hours, and it runs great. I also have Seasons installed and the game is faster than ever, even with CC and mods installed. Yes, the base game kept getting stuck because object files couldn't be found. I had the option to try and find it, after about 20 retries I got it right. I didn't use a tutorial. I tried to but it was too complicated and I had figured it out on my own.

So you got it working? Yay! (Unless I'm reading your post wrong. Then boo.)
