I had a super attractive waiter at Applebee's today. Unfortunately, I was with my parents, so all I said to him consisted of, "Yes, I would like some more lemonade," and "I'll have the Honey Barbecue Sandwich." Sometimes parents get in the way.

Lots of good things about today!
My best friend came to visit me, told me I look skinny, and we went to a couple of second-hand bookstores where I bought a first-edition copy of John Knowles' Peace Breaks Out for twenty bucks(!). Of course my life won't be complete until I acquire a first-edition copy of A Separate Peace, but this has made me sufficiently happy.

My friend lent me her DVD set of season 2 of Merlin, so that's something to look forward to when I'm done studying.
I also got back two English exams that I did before my spring holiday and I got an "A" so that's a success!

I finally turned in my semester-long essay and all my journals for english today, which is a huge weight off my shoulders. And I got 100% on my journals, so, yay. I also turned in 4 job applications today. Crossing my fingers that I'll get a call from one of them. I have a good feeling about these!

Today's my last day of freedom before I start working full-time tomorrow. Ick. I spent it shopping and watching the construction work going on in my backyard. We've got this maaasive bonfire pit put in. It's going to be pretty sweet when the yard's all finished.
On the downside of today, I think my fish is dying. He scares me because he's been lying on his side at the top of the tank all day long, yet he's alive and I don't know what's wrong with him.

^ That same this actually happened to my fish not too long ago. He's just a normal goldfish (despite the fact that he's almost 9 inches long--bigger than my freakin' hand!), and he's been alive for 6 years now. The tank was pretty dirty and I guess he couldn't "breathe" or whatever. My mom cleaned the tank and he was totally healthy within a day or so.
But I'm no fish doctor, so...
My good thing of the day is that my English teacher, Mr. C, finally came back from a 3-day vacation. He's my favorite teacher.

^ Mine's a little betta fish, only five months old (my last one lived to be three and a half). I seriously thought that he was on the verge of death there for a second, but for the last two days, he's been perfectly fine. Swimming normally, etc. I didn't even change his water, though I really should...eh. Tomorrow.
(Holy crap. Nine inches long? He must be in a pretty large tank, right? I heard that goldfish grow to fit their tanks, I think.)
My day was very busy, nothing really exciting or too good. I came home from work, worked out for the first time in two and a half weeks, and was at my brother's baseball game when we learned that my uncle was in a train crash (he wasn't hurt, though). My "good thing" is definitely that I finally worked out. I was giving myself a break after coming home from school, but I'm ready to get back into the swing of things now.

English final is done. This year English has been horrible so I am seriously happy to see the back of it. I also went for ice cream afterwards with my friends (on account of this weather) but somehow a group of friends always seems to whittle away until it's just me, my best friend and her boyfriend and that's my queue to exit. So I've come home, helped my brother with some of his college work (we're making a model farm, how exciting) and I'm currently lying here listening to the birds outside. So pretty.
This might be my chance to pick up a book at long last!

(Holy crap. Nine inches long? He must be in a pretty large tank, right? I heard that goldfish grow to fit their tanks, I think.) Yeah, the tank is about 20 inches long (just enough for him to swim up, down, back and forth). The last one was about 10 inches, and before that he was just in a plain fish bowl. I seriously pray that he stops growing. ^^ And holy crepes that turtle is adorable. I guess my good thing is that I found out that I'm getting new glasses soon. I stepped on my last pair, haha. I asked my dad to choose these kind of frames, but he said "I won't allow my daughter to walk around looking like a nerdy fictional character," so I settled for this style (Charmant are reading glasses, aren't they? Oh well).

^ My glasses look very similar to those! (The latter pair, not the round ones, I mean.) Though I'll be darned if I wear anything but contacts out of the house.
Today was payday, and tomorrow's Friday. Is there anything better than that?
