How to install CC Using 7zip 1. Download and install 7zip. 2. Create a new folder (name it whatever you want) in the "My documents" folder. 3. Download the file and save it to your new folder. When its done downloading, click "Close". 4. Open up 7zip. Double Click "documents" and then double click your folder. Select the file you want to unzip and click the " -" (extract). 5. New files should appear. You can now delete the zipped file, because you have its unzipped contents in your folder. 6. Select (all of) the new file(s) and cut them (right click--> cut) 7. Paste them in your Downloads folder (My Documents-->Ea Games--->Sims 2--->Downloads) If the CC is not zipped, you can just save the file in your downloads folder. Also, make sure to organize your Downloads folder by making sub-folders for specific things, such as Make-up and Skintones. However, if you only have the base game, these cannot be put in sub-folders. I hope this helps !

Are there certain items that don't show up in-game if placed into a subfolder? I read somewhere a long time ago that there was, but I'm not sure if it's true or not--have never tried.

I'm pretty sure if you only have the original game then the sub-folders won't work.. But thats what I heard somewhere :P. Correct me if I'm wrong.

If you only have the base game, The following items CANNOT be placed in subfolders: • Sims • Skintones • Eyes • Eyebrows • Glasses/Accessories Recolours • Makeup • Beards and stubble • Hair Recolours • Clothing Recolours • Collections (within the My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Collections folder) Credit to the Sims Wiki :)

But thanks, BB, for your resourcefulness. I've been wondering about this for some time now myself. I really have a love/hate thing for my base game.

No prob, I just copied and pasted that from the Sims Wiki. Yeah, unfortunately not that much bodyshop stuff can go in folders, but all of the build/buy mode stuff can .
