Saving your game to a new file?

Hi! Hope you're having a nice day
Anyway, how do you save your game to a new file?

My game has become really glitchy and keeps crashing and the grass turns blue etc. I'm not quite sure why, I think I downloaded a hack by accident (thinking it was CC) but I have no clue what it is (I'm so bad at all the technical stuff). But I have this family that I really want to keep, as well as some CC I have and stuff like that. (Some of it was from the Exchange on TS2 website before it died and yeah )

So if I save it to a new file and uninstall/re install could I get my CC back or not?

Not sure how to save a family , but if you want to save your CC, just copy and paste your Downloads folder (My Documents>EA Games>The Sims 2>Downloads) to your desktop. Then after reinstalling, you can just place it back. However, the corrupt hack you say you have is probably in your Downloads folder already.

You can look through your downloads with the Clean Installer.

Also, don't uninstall your game. Resetting it works the same way, and it's simple. Just delete the entire The Sims 2 folder (My Documents>EA Games>The Sims 2), and the game will respawn everything the next time you load it.
