I love American Idol. Where the X-Factor (the talent show we have in the UK, Pop Idol didn't have the same life span as it's American sibling) is more of a joke and will happily see a rubbish act through to the live shows in place of someone who really would value the opportunity and have a shot, American Idol always seems to be a genuine talent show through and through. However, I ADORED James Durbin, and I can't vote in the UK, plus I have to watch the results a day after. I just can't believe he's gone. I think it should have been Hayley. I always saw Scotty, Lauren and James in the top three, Hayley has been in the bottom so many times that I'm not really sure where her luck turned. She has a fantastic voice, but I really loved James  |

Oh...my...goodness. I almost cried when James Durbin got voted off. My best friend Elizabeth had said the same thing about Haley. JAMES DURBIN is my IDOL. He had such heart and a beautiful voice, and now I'm really sad. I even saw Jennifer crying when she heard that he was leaving. My mother, sister and I were outraged toward the American population afterward. |

I watch it occasionally on Fox8 (I live in Australia). James was my favourite. Did he get voted off?! Oh no!  I adored him, he had the most amazing voice ever. I also liked the guy with the red hair and the young kid. |

I kind of want Lauren to win. It's time for a girl to win American Idol again.
For some reason I didn't get into it like I did past years. I don't know why.

Yeah! I was so sad when James was voted off ! I was also upset when Hailey was voted off. Now the finale is going to be all country music! No offense to any country music fans, but I hate country music. I've been watching all season, but now I don't even want to watch the finale . I wanted Lauren to get voted off. I mean Lauren is good, and she seems like a nice person. I feel like Lauren deserved to be in the top 4, but (no offense to you guys who like Lauren best) not in the top 2. For me, she's too much like Carrie Underwood, but not nearly as good. After James got voted off, I really wanted the finale to be Hailey and Scotty. That would have been so awesome! Hailey and Scotty are both really talented and very different from both each other and all of the former American Idol winners. On a side note, I love how most of the people posting on this thread aren't from America  . I didn't even know they showed it in other countries! |

I always wanted a combination of Lauren, Scotty or James in the finale. I think Hailey is good, but it just took her too long to come into her own, therefore I'd picked my favourite before she started doing any performances worth watching I love country music, we don't have much in the UK, just an overflow of rapping, dance, pop, indie and all that is meaningless to me, but I do adore country music. I like listening to songs that are effectively a story also, one other than 'she broke my heart so I'm gonna sing an album about it and whine and moan' . I'm very happy with the two in the finale, but I think Scotty might win. I love how clear Laurens voice is  |

James was the ultimate singer. He had a lot in him, but America just seemed to think he would win and didn't even vote for him. I heard a bunch of girls at school and on the bus saying how sad they were to have James off, and I was just, "Blame America girls, blame America."
But that's sort of cold hearted.
I love Scotty. He has such a deep voice, I was really surprised when I first heard him. But nowI want him to win.

Yeah, Scotty has been my favorite since James was voted out, even though he's country. If Scotty wasn't also country, I would probably prefer Lauren over Hailey. Yeah! It's like the same thing that happened to Chris Daughtry a couple years ago... makes me wish I voted  . Usually, I only vote in the finale. I still love how popular American Idol is in other countries ! I live in America, and I'm the only one I know who watches it. |

I don't usually watch it to be honest, but after Adam Lambert, I had to go back and re-watch that season from beginning to end. Didn't watch last years because I didn't find anyone during auditions that I wanted to win  but also I was sick to death of Simon Cowel and the judging panel, despite it's few changes. I like it this year with a near enough total re-vamp, I don't think I could watch it now without the additions of Stephen and Jennifer |
