This is mainly to discuss the franchise in general, but seeing as I'm really curious right now, who's actually, I dunno... happy about the idea of Iris possibly catching Meowth in the JP episode coming out the 18th?

Personally, being one of the biggest fanatics of the little guy, I couldn't be more thrilled. Sadly, I appear to be one of the underdogs in this little 'fight' amongst the fandom.. Most people are too nostalgic to care about the main factor: the cat's happiness.... Makes me one sad simmer to see all this negativaty...

Iris would officially become my favorite human in the series, even if I know zip about her! (I don't watch anything after the last Hoenn episodes due to the newer Voice Actors)

I have absolutely no idea who Iris is, nor am I familiar with the Hoenn region (or basically anything Pokemon-related within the past ten years), but I still have some of the episodes from the very first season on VHS. Also, for my Game Boy Color (Oh, yes; it's green--and you can stop laughing at my outdated electronics now.), I have the blue, red, and yellow game-packs. Just recently, too, I figured out how to fix my silver and gold versions, which I haven't been able to play in years because of a dead battery within the cartridge (I actually made my mother go out to Wal-Mart and buy me a set of the appropriate batteries so I could be all nostalgic and stuff), and I was completely ecstatic and with nobody to share my excitement with but my brother. I also have at least a hundred and fifty old Pokemon cards on my bookshelf--but again, these are from the first season or so. The copyrights for all of this stuff, by the way, date from 1995 to 1999, so you really get to see how well I keep up with the times.

Ahh, I hear ya. My collection only goes as far as Johto, but I have all episodes that have the original voice actors in them, save for some Chronical ones (part of the Hoenn episode set), & just a small handful, if that of the newer toys n stuff. I'm a die-hard collector of Meowth merch. though, so if it exists, I either have already, or I know about it & plan to..


Still, if you see something rare-ish, I'd love hearing about it in case, cause I only look for stuff when I have the money to buy it. ^-^

I love the Pokemon games and manga, but I really despise the anime... I have pretty much all Pokemon games and I just read the Pokemon Adventures manga online.

I used to love the games. The first one I got was Sapphire and I swear, the amount of times I played through it! Absolutely loved it. My brother was a fan too, so he always used to get the 'opposite' game so we could complete the pokedex. Diamond/Pearl were pretty good, but I got bored of SoulSilver after beating the league the first time around. I don't think I'll get Black or White. I haven't played a pokemon game in a long time. Still, when the inevitable Hoenn remake comes out, I'll probably get it and relive my childhood. ;D
I adored the anime when it first screened here. I was around... seven, maybe? I remember everyone in my primary school class used to watch it. I gave up on it though by the time they got around to covering the Hoenn saga (ironically). Now I think they're milking the franchise when it's dried up - but that's just me. In fairness, I haven't seen any of the later episodes. ^^

Agreed. I don't follow the series anymore, but a girl in my advisory for school plays one of the later gamepacks for the Nintendo DS (I'm really not sure which it is), and apparently one of the Pokemon is a pile of garbage. If that's not desperation...

I don't watch the manga, though I do play the games.
I pretty much own every DS Pokemon game, sharing with my brother (White, Black, SoulSilver, HeartGold, Platinum, Diamond). I used to own Blue, Yellow and Ruby but those are long gone.
Being my cheating self, though, I can only play Pokemon games with cheats and hacks in them, so ActionReplay became my new best friend :)! I don't hack everything, I just feed them rare candies if they aren't leveled up to the proper amount because I HATE training them. I have this whole little setup, leveling them up about 5 levels from each huge event. Gym leader to Team Plasma, to Gym Leader to Team Plasma boss, etc.
