Just wondering if anyones' tried this. Frillen has a tutorial on rooftop pools that can be placed on a lower level---he/she has an animated water tile but I'm not sure if it will work since the lot with the tile was uploaded a long time ago ! Going to try it without the lot; but with the tutorial...I'll let everyone know if it works.

AAAaaack ! Tried it with Frillens' rooftop pool tutorial and it didn't work. According to MTS, there are some wading pools one can download....I'm kind of a chicken about such stuff until I know how it was achieved. I like 'hack-less' and 'mod-free' stuff. We'll see.

Well I have a toddlers wading pool that they sit in and splash. I am pretty sure it was made from a puddle because the interaction is the same as a puddle would be. I think I got it at MTS but it was a while back and I'm not sure. I never had any problems with it but it's only one square so probably not what you are looking for. BTW I've never been able to put a pool anywhere but in the ground and have wanted to. Let us know if you get it to work.

^ It's probably by rebecah or something similar. SHe makes a lot of children/toddler objects.

@ sandya , the Frillen rooftop pool was achieved using the in-house foundation (not the brick or other two); and I was unable to make it work, so far. The other way to place an above ground pool is to raise the ground level; place your pool in it; the use the cheat "Boolprop constrainfloorelevation false". Then drag and level the ground right up to the pool wall. You will see a 'wall' of pool water; then you can put a regular wall/window next to it for an aquarium effect ....or just leave it like it is. This leveling can be done on all 4 sides if you remember to raise the ground 3 tiles from the lot edge. Don't forget to turn off the cheat, back to 'true'.
Once my sims had a pool that was 2 1/2 stories high; but they didn't swim all the way to the bottom, just in the regular pool depth !
This is probably a bad explaination; there's probably someone here who can desribe it better. There was a story on above ground pools by Frillen, I think, on the exchange---- if and when EA has it back up. The sims' aquarium was by another author; if the site goes back up I can find it ; the link for it goes back to EA's site.

I have built a pool by raising the ground but that was for a courtyard pool with the house on a hill and the garage down below. That house was still on the exchange before the great hiatus. Thanks and a bene for your info. That sounds like something I would like to try. I think you explained it just great.
