Hi, Today my mom and I went to a thrift store that we always go to and occasionally I find Sims games that I already have I found most of my Sims 2 games at thrift stores. Today was slightly different though. I went to where they have the DVDs and video games and I found The Sims 2 Holiday Edition with a bonus disk inside. The bonus disk is The Sims 2 Holiday Stuff. I finally finished my Sims 2 collection. I payed $10, but I figured with as hard it is to find this game I got really lucky plus I got a stuff pack with it. They also had The Sims Life Stories, but unfortunately the wrong game was in the box. Instead it had The Sims 1 and The Sims 1 Complete Collection inside. A lot of good those games will do me when I own all of the, but can't play them on my Windows 7 computer. I guess I'll have to keep looking for that one. Does anyone know if this version of the game needs to be patched, and if so, where can I go to get it patched. That goes for the Sims 2 games also, where can I get the patches; I'm not sure if I copied all of them to my external hard drive or just a few. Please help, as I can't play TS2 if its not patched. Thank You.

I love it when that happens I was hoping for hard copies, but eventually gave in and bought the Apartment Life digital download when it was difficult to get a hold of here :/ I don't think there's a past patch for the holiday stuff pack. In fact, mine doesn't even ask for a code when installing. It's the odd one out of my games. There is a list of patches and available downloads here.

Thank you Amy, I didn't see a patch for the Holiday Edition. Is it still safe to play if I use the other patches that I have? My copy of Happy Holiday Stuff didn't come with a book. I wonder if that was intentional since its a bonus disk. I hope I can install it.

I don't think there is a book with the holiday edition - as there's no code. There isn't one with mine anyway. Yeah it will be fine to play with the other games, especially if they're patched. It's the only game that there isn't a patch for but then a lot of it is new items and not that many new things in game, only Christmas and Santa, so I guess its possible that for once EA didn't mess something up

I'm so jealous that you got that game. Its the only one I don't have too and I haven't found it anywhere. I'm holding out hope I'll find it someplace. Have a fun time playing and hope you find a patch for it

That's so cool that you actually found that game! I basically gave up trying to find The Sims 2 games in stores after a while and I've started to just begin ordering them online.. I only need three more stuff packs and then my collection is complete. Amy's already helped with the whole patching thing; my Holiday Stuff pack game didn't ask for a code either, which I kind of found odd but oh well. Hope you have fun playing your new game ^__^!

I remeber being so chuffed when I picked up the Holiday stuff pack - only to get it home and discover there was no booklet included with the disc. I was raging, thinking Gamestop had pulled a fast one on me, selling an uninstallable disc. I was going to return it to the shop! Luckily I stuck it into the computer first and discovered you didn't need a registration code to install it. It's a cute stuff pack, but it annoys me more than anything. My sims don't really celebrate Christmas or New Year. They're lucky if they get a birthday party! But I do like the idea of having Santa Claus and the other things it offers. Enjoy it!

Toniad31, I wasn't actually looking for it. I found it by chance at a thrift store. If you haven't looked at thrift stores for them, then you should. You should also try garage sales and flea markets. That is, if you shop at them. simeysmiler, My Sims don't celebrate any holidays, but they will when I finally decide to install the games again. Caitlin, I'm sure I'll have fun playing it, the downside will be that I just realized that my Nightlife game is with my base game and I won't be able to install Nightlife if I install the Holiday Edition, as I gave my separate Nightlife game to my cousin after I bought the Deluxe Edition of the base game. Good luck finding the last three stuff packs.
I occasionally still see some of TS2 games out here, but they're still full price. Target had some of them and when I noticed that they had all of the Sims 3 games on sale I saw that the few Sims 2 games that they had were not part of the sale. I did add to my Sims 3 games though.
I play both games. I just have TS3 installed because I have some other large capacity games installed and I needed to decide on one or the other. I'll go back to TS2 eventually though. I better go, Bohemian Rhapsody just came on and I can't multitask when that song is on.
