I was wondering if anyone here did rotations with their Sim families. Ie playing a family, then moving to the next so they're all at the same pace. Do you do it by days or seasons? I've never done rotations before and I need to do it for my legacy.

I guess I sort of "rotate" when I play. I make my own neighborhoods and do all my own building for the most part. When I create my families, I often start with an adult to get the face I want, but then change that to an elder...that way I can make an adult child with the same face. So I make an elder couple with maybe 3-4 adult children. I might even make a spouse for one or more of those adult children. I move them all onto an empty lot and build the house mostly to accommodate the elder couple but with just enough space to allow the adult children to live there for a short time to help build the relations between everyone. Then I move the adult children out to their own homes and start them having their families. I keep the aging turned off on all of them until I need it on to allow a toddler or child to "grow". But I do rotate whenever I age someone so that the relative families continue to age with them as they would in real life....same age cousins remain same age and so on. My original elder couple who have now become grandparents however.....I keep their aging off so they can enjoy all their grandchildren visits and hopefully great grandchildren too...

I play on rotations mostly by Sim days. I usually play each household by a Sim week.

I play rotations by seasons.

I play my Sims by Seasons, except the ones in College, who I play by Years. (So that it only takes four seasons elsewhere to graduate college.) Well, that is my plan anyway. I haven't actually put it into action yet..
When I play without all the EP's I play from Monday to Monday. College being about the same ratio.

Play family; get bored; move on. That's actually pretty much my approach to life.

I used to just play and get everything all out of whack with each other. Then, I read about rotations and I do that now. I like it a lot more and I play a more integrated game because of it. More sims know each other and stay friends life long. There are clubs that meet to play cards or mahjong, etc. I have played a season each lot, but now I generally play 5 days with allowances for special events. Ex: I never leave a preggers gal if I can help it because I get sick of her barfing in all the friends toilets. My play is much more fun since I started rotations. I do keep a notebook so I don't have bad things happen while I get back up to speed. Just basic notes nothing involved.

I've got to admit I fail on the rotation front. I wish I could do it but I can't. I stay with one family and get attached, and then I have everything and all the Sims out of sink, and eventually lose interest I think next time I play I'm going to have to try it through seven-Sim-day rotations something
