{name:Brian#|#picture:9}Brian turned his head around like an old, fat cat. "Did you say something?" he said in almost a drunk tone. Brian was looking at a pamphlet of a college two hours away from here and showed it to Joelle. "Look."

{name:Joelle#|#picture:2}Joelle took the pamphlet. It was a nice looking college, not as renowned as the one Brian was at, but it had an excellent education program. "You want to go here?" Joelle asked just to clarify things.

{name:Brian#|#picture:9}"Yes. I do." Brian said slowly and struggling to keep his eyes open. "My friend Jacob goes to school there. That's one more friend then I had at my old college." Brian felt as he was being interrogated by the police, but it may have been because he was already half asleep trying to form the words being spoken to him like a toddler.

{name:Joelle#|#picture:2}Joelle realized Brian was bound to fall asleep at any second now. She heaved a sigh. "Go to bed," she said in a weary tone. "We'll discuss this in the morning." Turning around she walked back to her bedroom, quickly changed and then curled up under her covers. She wondered if Brian was going to sleep in her room or take the guest bedroom. She wanted him to sleep with her but she knew if he did, she was bound to keep him up with her chattering. Joelle didn't understand why Brian would make such a sudden descision on college. What happened to I'll think about it?

{name:Brian#|#picture:9}Brian walked into Joelle's room and plopped on her bed. He kissed her forehead. "Goodnight." he pulled her close and stroked her hair. With five minutes Brian was asleep and you could hear a faint snore from him. He dreamed about their prom night and the day they broke up. He jerked out of bed.

{name:Joelle#|#picture:2}Joelle couldn't sleep. She didn't know why but she wasn't tired, even thought the day had been very eventful. Staring towards the ceiling, Joelle relived the day in her head, thinking about the desicisions she'd made. She was engaged. At 21. It was so young but something told her that Brian was the one, that Brian would never hurt her. Suddenly Brian jerked out of bed, and tumbled to the floor. "Brian!" Joelle called, scrambling to the other side of the bed. She bent towards the floor half on the bed and half off the bed. Joelle brushed the hair of Brian's face. He was sweating like crazy and his breathing was shallow. "Brian, are you ok?"

{name:Brian#|#picture:9}"I'm fine." He murmured and got up and laid back down on the bed. "Did I wake you?" he rested his head on Joelle's chest and she moved to a comfortable position to kiss his forehead and procede to lightly drag her fingers across his chest. "Do you think it's right that we are engadged so early?" he looked up. He knew she was the one and would never let go of him in her heart even if they were not going to get married. He wanted to dream about their future, getting married, having kids, but all he could think about was their past. Mainly bad times but some good here and there. He tightened his fists and released. Everything will be fine. He repeated in his head. There was another thing floating in his mind but he just shooed the thought away. He scooted back to his pillow and fluffed it and flipped it before resting his head back down.

{name:Joelle#|#picture:2}Joelle watched Brian closely as he laid down on his pillow. He seemed...troubled. A fear rose deep in Joelle's gut. She could feel her face drain of color. She felt like throwing up as she asked:
"Brian? Do you regret asking me to marry you?"
Joelle couldn't help it as tears formed in her eyes. Brian was question the appropriateness of getting married at their young age, and waking up from a supposed nightmare. Was the nightmare about having to be stuck with Joelle for the rest of his life? Joelle let out a choked sob as Brian stared at her. She wanted him to say something, anything. She wanted him to tell her she was being foolish- he loved her and always will. But her mind told her that Brian didn't want to marry her. Brian wanted nothing more to do with Joelle. When Brian continued to say nothing, Joelle broke down into gusts of tears, pouring down her face.

{name:Brian#|#picture:9}Brian almost started sobbing too. "No I don't. Not the least bit." he tried to wipe away her tears, but there was too many. "Joelle whats wrong? Please tell me." he could feel the heat on her lips as he planted a kiss on her, immediately stopping tears. "Are you sick?" he looked at Joelle and looked away. "or pregnant?" he whispered.

{name:Joelle#|#picture:2}Joelle took a shaky breath in, trying to make her breathing return to normal. Brian wasn't regretting their engagement! Joelle had just over reacted once again. Brian still loved her, and their engagement wasn't off. Joelle laid back down on her pillow. "I'm not sick Brian," she said after a few minutes of deep breathing. She could feel the tear tracks left from her freak out. She rubbed her face.
"and definatly not pregnant. How could I be when we haven't even...you know." Joelle blushed as she said this. Joelle shut her eyes. "Im just tired I guess. I'm having trouble sleeping is all," Joelle said. The she opened her eyes to look up at Brian. He was leaning on his elbow, propping his head on hand. He was just watching her. She could feel his concern. "Brian I'm ok," she said. "I promise." Joelle pulled herself on top of Brian chest, tracing random patterns on his arms, chest, neck and almost everywhere else. Joelle hid her face in Brian's chest and breathed deeply. She felt calmer now.

{name:Brian#|#picture:9}Brian felt his cheeks trickle to a bright red. "Oh yeah." It was really hard for him to imagine...that. It was always a state of mind, while for some it was, well, present. To Brian and his lifetime it wasn't. Him mother said to never ever unless it was with someone special at a special time. It had to be absolutely perfect. He wasn't so sure if he wanted to or not. He closed his eyes again. He was glad to hear those words out of Joelle's mouth. "I'm just tired I guess. I'm having trouble sleeping is all," It meant Joelle hadn't nor wasn't seeing anyone too lately. Why should he be worried anyway? Maybe it was the thought of everything lately. Just let it soak in he thought. Just because they were engaged didn't mean they had to get married right away either. Correct?

{name:Joelle#|#picture:2}Joelle sighed into Brians chest. She seemed to sigh a lot lately. Mate it was because there was so much to sigh about! Joelle spread her hand over Brians heart. She could almost feel it beating. It was comforting, being curled up next to Brian so close they seemed to be attached at the hip! "what are you thinking about?" Joelle asked after a long silence between the two of them. Brians breathing had deepened or settled into a sleepy pace, so she knew her was still awake. Joelle peered up at him. His eyes were half closed as her looked down at her. His hair was ruffled from sleeping and his tumble to the floor. He looked absolutely adorable! Sort of like a sleepy child, who had just awoken from a Long nap! Joelle smiled.

{name:Brian#|#picture:9}"You" he said and kissed Joelle's ear. "I'd wait a lifetime to marry you if I had to." he held her hand on his chest. "What are you thinking about?" he pulled her in even closer, Joelle almost laying on top of Brian. Brian had one hand resting on Joelle's hip keeping her close, and his other hand on top of hers. He looked over at the clock. Four am it read. He peered through the slits in his eyes, trying not to doze off. Joelle looked wide awake carefully listening to every word Brian spoke. He caressed her cheek as she answered his question.

{name:Joelle#|#picture:2}Joelle closed her eyes and just let the gentle rubbing of Brian's hand sooth her for a moment. The familar hand had a way of making her melt inside, and feel warm and fuzzy all over.
"I'm thinking about today," Joelle quickly glanced at the clock, an realized it was 4 in the morning. "Or yesterday I suppose." she corrected herself.
Joelle felt Brian's hand move to her hair. A steady stroking made Joelle crumble, and she let her eyes drift shut, dragging her into a sleepy state. She suddenly felt exhausted, like she hadn't slept in weeks. When her eyes finally shut all they way, Joelle snuggled closer to Brian.
Then she snapped her eyes open, wide awake again. She didn't want to fall asleep before Brian. Joelle wanted to stay awake and chatter about nothing. Brian's stroking continued and Joelle felt the feeble tugs of sleep try to grasp her again.
"Brian," Joelle said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I love you."

{name:Brian#|#picture:9}"I love you too." He said with his eyes closed now. Apparently he dozed off until the sun had risen and it was now midday. He rubbed his groggy eyes and peered at the clock. 1:07. He groaned. He stretched out his limbs and slipped out of bed careful not to wake Joelle. After showering and downing two bowls of cereal he went outside and picked up the newspaper. He picked it up making a crackling noise when he unfolded it. He could have sworn he could see a line of dust where the paper was, but what he looked back nothing was there. He flipped open to the 'Jobs' part of the newspaper. He needed a sidejob for now. Somebody needed to pay the bills, and Joelle doesn't need to do all of it. He went inside the guestbedroom and tore down the 'For Rent' sign facing the front of their house. He peered through the window to find someone was staring at it. He opened the window and said "Sorry, we don't need a roomate anymore." the unknown person humphed and briskly walked away.
