{name:Joelle#|#picture:2}Joelle stretched her arms above her head before letting them flop down on either side. She spread herself across the whole bed, flipping onto her stomach and stuffing her face into her pillow. Joelle couldn't shake the feeling she was missing something though, no matter how comfortable she was.
Joelle turned her head away from the pillows so she could breath little easier. She rose an eyebrow. The covers had been thrown back on this side, as if someone had hopped out of bed...
"Brian!" Joelle said outloud with an inward gasp. She had realized what was missing! Launching herslef upward, Joelle smacked her head on the headboard of her bed.
"Owwww!" Joelle hollered, expressing her pain the only way she could think of at the time being. Joelle rubbed her head. She'd hit it hard and now the entire room was spinning. Joelle slowly lowered herself back into a laying position. Maybe she would look for Brian when the world stood still again!

{name:Brian#|#picture:9}Brian ran into the master bedroom when he heard his name and a loud bump. He saw Joelle laying on the bed looking straight up at the ceiling. He noticed a pingpong sized bump on her forehead. "I'm here!" Brian said loudly fetching an icepack. He dashed back into the room to comfort Joelle. He pulled her onto his lap in a sitting position. "What happened?" He said rubbing her temples. He noticed her eyes where closing. He shook her awake. "no," he said wagging his finger at her. "You can't fall asleep with that concussion. I don't need my fiancé going under." He picked her up and carried her to the living room where he set up a breakfast for Joelle. "Here have some." He fed Joelle some fruit. "Want me to run you a bath?" Brian didn't need a dead or hurt fiancé. He'd much rather go skinny dipping in a lake or hottub. Brian thought about taking Joelle to the doctor but he just called him instead. "The doctor said keep it cool so the swelling will go down and if it hurts take some ibuprofen."

{name:Joelle#|#picture:2}Joelle squinted up at Brian, nibbling on the fruit he was feeding her. She touched her head. A small bump had formed already. The ice pack was numbing her head. All Joelle wanted to do was go back to bed and forget that this ever happened.
"I'm not a morning person," Joelle said looking at Brian. This wasn't completely true. Most mornings Joelle liked to be up with the sun, lengthening her day and accomplishing her daily goals before noon. Then mornings like this would come around and Joelle would end up wishing mornings were never invented!
Joelle groaned. The ice pack was warming up quickly and the delightful numbing feeling was slowly ebbing away leaving behind a feeling that closely resembled thousands of tiny, piercing knives behind.
Joelle pushed herself into a sitting position. A huge head rush gripped her, leaving her disorenented afterwards. Brian's concerned face hovered near, and he tried to get her to lay back down. Joelle would have none of it! She wanted to go to her medicine cabinet and get her bottle of advil. She stood up, steadying herself as the world swayed.
Joelle took a step forward- and then tripped over her sluggish feet, taking a tumble to the floor.
Brian's strong arms wrapped around her pulling her into his arms and carrying her back to the bedroom. Brian set her gentle on the bed bed with a demanding "stay".
"Woof," Joelle said. Then she tried to get up again. Unfortuantly, in her current state of mind, she failed to remember Brian hadn't left the room yet. Brian gave her the look a parent gives a misbehaving toddler before lying on top of her, pinning her to the bed.

{name:Brian#|#picture:9}Brian slapped his face. He headed towards the medicine cabinet in the bathroom. He ran the water until it was ice cold and filled up a glass for Joelle. He brought the water, pill, food, and a fresh icepack on a tray to Joelle.
"I guess you can pass on the bath. You can't even stand up." He held up a few fingers. "How many?" Joelle humped. Apparently she thought it was silly. He pulled the garbage can from the corner of the room close to the bed. "Puke-in here." He said pointing to the can.
"If you need help with anything, holler." Brian walked out of the room and started to unpack all of his stuff. He pulled out a photo frame. It was a prom picture of Joelle and Brian. He went to go hang it up in the living room.

{name:Joelle#|#picture:2}Joelle stared at the trash can Brian has told her to puke in. It was blue, her mind told her. She listened carefully, trying to figure out what Brian was doing, without having to move her head at all.
She heard a zipper- perhaps from his suitcase? Then some rustling, and the sound of Brian walking on carpet. So he was in the living room? Joelle shook her head. The living room had hardwood she thought as a nausious feeling passed through her.
Joelle realized she really didn't know why she cared what Brian was doing so much. She shuffled onto her side, as slowly as she could. Joelle curled up into a ball and closed her eyes. Sleep quickly gripped her, and she fell into the realem of unconsiousness.
A while later Joelle opened her eyes. She felt... odd. Sort of like she had bumped her head really hard. Her memory was foggy. What had happened after her and Brian had returned from dinner? She rolled onto her other side to wake Brian up. Squinting through the darkness, she realized Brian wasn't there!
"Brian!" Joelle yelled, shooting upwards and knocking her head on that damn headboard.
that's right she thought. I hit my head. The memories rushed back to her as the pain of hitting an already sore noggin rushed into her head. Rising into a sitting position, Joelle's stomach lurched. She threw her head towards the trashcan just in time, as she hurled the contents of her stomach.
Joelle moaned. She was going to get rid of that headboard the moment she could stand up without puking! At the moment, she was parched and her mouth had the disgusting after taste of puke in it. Joelle called for Brian again.
Brian didn't come though. Joelle yelled a little louder. Still no Brian! Where was he? Was he hurt? Or just out and about?

{name:Brian#|#picture:9}Brian stood back and admired his handiwork. A few minutes later he heard what was almost like a bird choking. He ran outside to see what the ruckus was about. He ended up wandering halfway down the block just to find a dead skunk in the road. He looked at his watch. He had already been gone 20 minutes. He raced back home panting.
When he reached the door, he heard a faint voice calling his name. He figured it was Joelle. He strolled into the room and she was pointing at her throat. "Water is on the side-table." He pinched his nose. What is that smell?? He peered into the trash can and quickly backed off to notice another small bump on Joelle's head right onto of the other. "I'm calling over Dr. Jones right now!" He started punching numbers into the phone, praying Joelle wouldn't get amnesia. While the doctor was on her way, Brian was busy unscrewing the headboard of the bed. They have been too many injures this thing had made. "Whoever designed this part of the bed was a dumbass." He started chatting up Joelle to let her mind forget about the pain when the doorbell rang.
Brian dashed to the door right when he was done putting away that stupid headboard. "Come in Doctor Jones." Dr. Jones was a kind and gentle lady in her early fifties. "What seems to be the problem now?" She said in a tone that made the whole room tingle. "This way." Brian gestured to Joelle as he chatted to the doctor about being Joelle's fiance. "Well you have a wonderful man taking care of you miss." The doctor said while putting on sanitary gloves and examining the bump(s). "Tell me what happened here Joelle."

{name:Joelle#|#picture:2}Joelle could barely see through the strong pain that held her. She blinked hard, and opened her eyes to a older woman. She seemed so familar, but Joelle couldn't put a finger on who she was.
Joelle looked around. Where was she? And who was this woman was pressing on her forehead? "Owww!" Joelle shrieked when the woman prodded the bump a little to hard. "Who are you?" Joelle said, grabbing for Brian's hand and pulling him nearer to her. She felt so...lost. Everything seemed foggy. Like someone had pulled a black-out blind over parts of her brain.
"Brian," Joelle said, nervously eyeing the new woman. "What happened? Who's she? Where are we?" Joelle said quickly, asking every question she could think of. "Brian," Joelle murmered. Brian sat down next to her and pulled her into his arms, holding her head below his chest. "What's wrong with me?"

{name:Brian#|#picture:9}"Joelle, you are at home. And this is your doctor." Brian said a little worry in his voice. Dr. Jones gave a small smile and said "She has a small case of amnesia. It's a bit like short term memory loss. It should only last a couple of day. As of her bump, keep icing it and if it hurts take little advil as possible. A pharamsist may suggest a cream instead. And there is definately a bruise but Joelle, if you get dizzy let Brian or I know." After that, the doctor went through a list of things Joelle can and can't do. Brian didn't get the full list because after a few things he started daydreaming. Promptly Dr. Jones handed Brian a bill and left.
Brian slung his arm around Joelle "Feeling any better babe?" he kissed her on the cheek.

{name:Joelle#|#picture:2}Joelle felt like she was on the verge of a panic attack. She felt woozy, and tired, and confused all at the same time! She held back her tears as best she could.
Joelle hugged Brian. "Not really no," she responded to his question. She looked around the room. How was it she could remember Brian but not her home? Hadn't she lived here for a while?
A photograph on the wall caught her eye. It was her and Brian at the prom. She remembered that- from the poofy dress she wore to the corsage Brian had given her. She also remembered the time a jerk was hitting on her so Brian punched the guy out cold!
"Is there any water?" Joelle asked quietly, suddenly feeing parched.

{name:Brian#|#picture:9}"Sure." He said handing Joelle a large glass. "I'm glad you didn't forget me." He gave Joelle a long lingering kiss. He would be very depressed if Joelle forgot Brian. Brian would always care for Joelle. Brian crossed his fingers. Please get better. "So do you want to talk about the wedding?" Brian wondered who would be his best man and the maid or honor. He didn't have a brother or any friends around here. Brian drummed his fingers on his lap.

{name:Joelle#|#picture:2}Joelle thought for a while. Why was Brian was so clear in her mind but she couldn't remember if she had any friends! Or siblings, a job? Joelle had never felt so frazzled before!
Joelle looked up at Brian. "I'd love too," she smiled.

{name:Brian#|#picture:9}Brian scratched at his messy hair. "What do you remember?" Brian said rubbing some ointment Dr. Jones gave Joelle. He didn't hope this would last too long. Did she remember they were engaged? Did she forget he friends? Family? "I hope you'll remember everything soon." Will she even remember everything? He had so many questions. Will she remember her amnesia? Maybe she remembered Brian because the picture of them was in the room. Brian quick scribbled a note on a piece of paper. He read it over and stuffed it in Joelle's hand. "Put it somewhere and don't read it until you remember fully." Brian thought if he was a girl with amnesia he'd put it in a diary and reread the diary to get back a memory. Did Joelle even have a diary? Now would be a good time to find out.

{name:Joelle#|#picture:2}Joelle snuggled into Brian's strong chest. "I remember everything about you," she said. "But I can't remember any other people or if I have a job. Do I?"
Joelle hoped Brian could help her fill in the blanks about her life.

{name:Brian Woods#|#picture:9}Brian went through Joelle's whole life not skipping a beat. He just left out parts about them being together. He figured she remembered. Brian had a lightbulb go on in his head.
"Do you have a diary? Or journal? Or even remember one? I don't mean to snoop but it could get your memory back." Brian peered around the room looking where a girl would keep a diary. Would Briar know? She'd be good at finding these things. He sent her a few texts.

{name:Joelle#|#picture:2}Joelle thought long and hard. She could faintly remember a worn purple book, with the front cover missing. Was it a journal? Or something else?
Joelle quickly relayed the information to Brian. "I don't remember where it could be though."
She shuffled into a more comfortable position. Joelle frowned slightly. She felt so befuddled. Then she had a thought. Grinning to herself she looked up at Brian.
Then she pulled him into a long kiss.
Brian's confused look only widened Joelle's smile. "I think it'll help me remember," Joelle smiled sweetly. Brian just laughed and grinned, before leaning down to kiss Joelle again.
