Well, I just finished my Christmas shopping today by ordering a used copy of Apartment Life from Amazon for my brother (Oh, who am I kidding, it's for me too ;D). Noticing that the used price was about $60 less than a new copy (can you believe AL is $100 now?!?!?), I looked for other sp's and ep's that I didn't have, and came upon this.
What is the difference between the Happy Holiday Stuff and Festive Holiday Stuff? One was a little cheaper than the other, so does that mean one has more in it? And also, if I were to purchase one of these, will it come with the Santa and Father Time sims, or do I have to get the Holiday Edition for that?
Ah, I'm so confused! Can someone help?

Noticing that the used price was about $60 less than a new copy (can you believe AL is $100 now?!?!?) What? $100.00? That's insane! Even a used copy for $40.00 is a bit extreme. I believe that I bought my new copy of AL for that amount, although that was four years ago. It is a good EP, in my opinion, though. ...I've never heard of Festive Holiday Stuff. It doesn't seem to come up on the Wiki or Amazon for me. The Wiki says that Father times comes with the Holiday Party SP. Same with Santa.

I bought my AL for $20 back when it was released! $100 is crazy!
The difference is that one was released in the UK and one in the US.

What? $100.00? That's insane! Even a used copy for $40.00 is a bit extreme. I know, right? But there it is.I've been following it for a long time, and the price has just gone up, so I figured if I'm going to get it I might as well do it now before it skyrockets to something even more unbelievable. Even some of the used copies were set for sale at $80 or more! Hmm okay that makes more sense, (no offense to anyone, but being an American, I've hardly ever heard the word "festive" used). I've never seen the Holiday Party SP before though. According to this it's included in the Happy Holiday Stuff. So that means I could just get Happy Holiday and get Santa and Father Time and whatever too, right?

So that means I could just get Happy Holiday and get Santa and Father Time and whatever too, right? Yeah, that's what I came to understand upon reading through the Wiki. Happy Holiday seems the best bet. Good luck! Let us know how you like it (and AL. I'm curious about that 'cuz I really do like it myself).

I own Happy Holiday stuff and like it, though I think some of the objects from it are also downloadable on the Exchange.
I found the same about the whole "New" version being way more expensive then the "Used" version, being an average Amazon-er myself. I think it's because a brand-new packaged Apartment Life is harder to come by. Its probably also because of the little code inside of it. I have the same problem, because I want to get IKEA, Kitchen and Bath, and Mansion and Garden.

^^ Yeah, I made sure the code and manual were included in the description before I bought anything. The cheaper ones did't have any description in them, and I didn't trust it. Not really important, but I also noticed the most expensive ones were the games I don't own. It seems like the ones I do have, like Seasons for example, are $20, but the ones I don't own, like Apartment Life, are 100 bucks... Sigh. That's exactly my type of luck.

You don't really need the code that comes with the game though. I lost my manual for my OfB game and just searched a new code up online. The only difference is that you wouldn't be able to attach that to your Sims2 account online. Since the website is closing down now, though, I don't think it's a big deal.

Isn't it because of AL being one of the last EP's to be released and therefore there is smaller supply of them since EA was focusing on TS3 by that point? I think that's also why there's more of the earlier EP's because EA made more of them. I wish they would have continued with the combo packs.

^^That would make sense. And I wish they would've kept coming out with the combo packs too! $20 for three games? That's one of the best deals I've ever seen. I've never bought a sp in my life, they've all come with my combos. Man, I love those things... Anyway, I got AL the other day! Unfortunately I wasn't home and my brother found it in the mail (Christmas fail... XP), but whatever, I got to play it before Christmas at least. I haven't done much with it, I've been too busy trying to get preview pics to actually play the game, but I can say now I absolutely LOVE the interactions that come with it! The little cuddling in bed thing? So cute! The dance twirl? I've been trying to get that for a while! The interactions are so adorable I could sob! Not really, but they're so cute!I haven't played the apartments much, but they look neat. And the playground stuff is really cool. I'm going to get some really nice shots of my children playing on that merry-go-round.

Yes, the interactions that come with AL are so cute. I love AL. I have all the EP's now, but I need the Glamour Life SP and Holiday Stuff, I know the Holiday Stuff SP isn't a "real" SP, but I want to have a complete game. I hope I can get them both by the end of this year.

The little cuddling in bed thing? So cute! I haven't played the apartments much The cuddling in bed interaction is really the most adorable thing! I forgot that it wasn't a base-game interaction, haha. I like apartments. They're a nice break from houses sometimes. Plus I'll build really cheap complexes (like with communal bathrooms and everything) and move broke divorcees and out-of-college students into.
