July 29, 2011 was the last Deletion Day at the Unofficial BBS. So one and a half years ago was the last time that inactive accounts had been removed, and trust me, they've only accumulated since. February 04, 2013 will mark the second Deletion Day.
We currently have 14 members with unactivated accounts. Ten were created prior to July 1, 2012; four were created after July 1, 2012. The first group will have their accounts deleted on February 4 if the accounts are not activated; the second group will be safe for now, but if not activated, they'll be deleted on the next Deletion Day, either to take place six months or a year from now.
We currently have 103 members who have not logged in for more than a year. 40 have zero posts; 63 have one or more posts. The first group will have their accounts deleted on February 4 if they do not make at least one post between now and then; the second group will be safe for now, but if they remain without posts, they'll be deleted on the next Deletion Day.
Therefore, we will lose a potential fifty accounts within the next month.
Also, we have 152 members with less than ten posts. That's 3/4th of our membership. Of course, sometimes people join a forum just to lurk (that could especially be the case here, as the majority of our boards are closed off to unregistered members), so these accounts are safe and will not be removed.
I'm going to be sending out a mass email with all of this information in it. Hopefully those who do not frequent the forum, or those who have forgotten about it, will see the email and be reminded or even inspired to connect with us once again.
