Have you guys all heard? I'm not sure if I'm excited or not!

My computer will probably die if I try to put this on it. It barely likes TS2...
Thank God it's offline, though. And that Maxis is back.
I don't know if I'm excited, either. I can't believe I just bought TS1, and fourteen years later, its great-great grandfather/mother is coming out.

I'm happy to see Maxis returning. I hope that it'd mean that some of the TS1 humour would be returned to the game (and, from personal taste, that they'd ditch the pudding look from the actual Sims).

I'm so glad Maxis finally got back with EA. With the games they worked on, it seems like there's more humor and love in the game if that makes sense. They didn't work on the Sims 3 and it was more realistic and plain. I hope on the Sims 4 they bring back what the Sims was originally.

Hmm I thought I would be really annoyed when they announced they were going to release Sims 4, but I'm actually kind of looking forward to it now. It sounds like they might go back to the look of Sims 1 and 2 (especially with the "We're going back to our roots" comment). Huh, I might actually like TS4.
And I too am happy Maxis is back! Hopefully when it comes out I'll have a computer strong enough to test it out on.

I saw the promo photo and I got all giddy. I think I will buy this and surpass TS3. (or maybe I will be another generation behind and just buy TS3. lol)

I am super excited for Sims 4. My computer will probably not take it, but, it's fine. Did you watch the live broadcast on the 18th? One of the artists behind Sims 4 showed a drawing of a sim. It disappointed me. It looks super cartooney and It feels like a step down from Sims 2, but that's just my opinion. What do you guys think?

I'd heard about it but I'd not watched it--so I just went and checked it out. (It's here: youtu.be/hg3rM9I0lBo if anyone's interested. The section on TS4 is at about 35 minutes in.) I really like the concept picture actually. It's a lot more appealling (to me) than that of TS3. I'm not so keen on the one they released with the initial announcement though. It'll be interesting to see how closely actual Sims will match to the concept though. I mean, until we see a full 3D render, it's hard to tell.

^ Agreed. I like the concept picture, but I think it's waaay too early to draw any concrete conclusions. I hate the way the Sims look in that preview banner, though.
"Sexier, cooler design"? Yes, please!

I'm not quite sure how I feel about the concept picture to be honest. She seems too... I don't know... realistic? I'm not sure that's the word I'm looking for either, but she doesn't seem like a sim, you know? She actually reminds me of a cross between a heroine in an action/adventure video game and those sims in the facebook sim game. Maybe it's just me, I don't know.
But it doesn't really matter. It's just a concept picture after all.
And I agree, I absolutely hate the preview banner. It just looks like an add on to TS3.
