Hey, all! So the showcase has just ended, and I think we did all right in terms of the number of participants. But in the interest of always having an event either on-going or on-coming (and especially because it's still summer time, and I'm going to assume that this is when people have the most free time), I'm here to see what you guys would be interested in doing next! Let me know if you think I'm moving too quickly. Our next event proabably won't take place until the end of July/early August anyway. Do you want to try a Round Robin? Or if not, I have few other ideas kicking around. Some kind of Sim makeover or photo contest or modeling competition, or else that tutorial/experimentation week which I mentioned here a while ago. Or anything else that you guys might want to try. I'm hoping to stay away from a straight CC-making event, since that's what the showcase was, but it's really all up to you guys. I'm game for anything. (Also I apologize that I can't really champion a Sims 3-centered event right now, as I don't own the game. I am waiting on Amy's next visit to the forum so that I can acquire the power to promote staff members--and hopefully someone who plays TS3--and once that happens, I'm really going to push for a TS3 event, since TS3 players are rather abandoned here.)

I'm definitely up for a forum Round Robin! I did one last year and it was really fun, espeically deciding on founders and such.
I'm also always up for photo competitions.

The photo competitions idea sounds really fun, and I've always wanted to try a Round Robin! I'm really up for anything, all of these ideas sound great

espeically deciding on founders and such. How did you all do it? I was thinking that we'd just give everybody who wanted it the opportunity to submit a Sim, and then we'd vote to see which one would become founder, like how the heirs are decided.

That's pretty much how it was done Everyone who wanted to submitted a sim. It was a halloween themed legacy though, so there were a bunch of criteria that had also been voted on--such as aspiration/creature type/gender. Names were all decided through a vote as well, from suggestions that went with the theme. I don't suppose a theme is actually required but it made making the founder easier. (The only other thing with voting for everything, I guess, is that it'd be really time consuming and there aren't that many of us...) In fairness, last years RR didn't manage to make it past generation 2, but it was well organised. I think there's a community on LJ which hosts all the polls and such if you want to see!

I don't think we'll do a theme, just for the sake of keeping it simple (unless people were really keen on it, in which case we could definitely give it a shot).
I was thinking that we'd allow people to choose names and aspirations and whatnot for themselves, and then we'd vote on the founders as a package deal--you know, you get Bob Smith who's a Cancer and Romance Sim, or you get Mary Sue who has no nice points and is turned on by robots, or you get et cetera, et cetera. We are so few in number, as you mention, which will already cause enough problems with doing a challenge like this, but! I think it can work out, and if not? Well, we gave it our best shot, didn't we?
Uh. Should we vote on a name, though? Or have some standard surname like, um, "Unofficial"? Or "Bebeess"? Or something not as lame as those two? Or should we let people choose their own name as part of the "package"?
What do you guys think? Other suggestions are welcome too, especially from those of you who have participated in these before.

I've never done one before, but a Round Robin sounds really fun and different! I don't think our number of members would be too big of a problem, (we might be able to double up on generations? I don't know). I'm up to try it, at least.
If we decide not to go with the RR though, I'm game for an "experimentation week" or photo contest too - I've never done a modeling contest thing before, that could be fun.
As far as surname, I guess a poll? (I don't really have a strong opinion on it). Although I do like the name "Bebeess" ;D

I also like the name "Bebeess", haha. And like LadyofShalott also said, we could double up on certain generations if need be. I'd definitely be up for it!

Like LadyofShalott said, I also don't have a strong opinion on last names. We could do "Bebeess" or something similar (I was mostly kidding, but I'm glad to see that you guys like my silliness ), but it might also be fun to have no designated last name and see how it changes through the course of the legacy. Maybe I'll post a poll to see which way we'd like to go. I'd also agree that we could double up if needed. I really don't at all think that we'll get ten people from here, but I'll advertise at the forum Tumblr and even at my personal LJ to see if we can get a few more participants. As of right now, this is probably going to be what our next event ends up being. I'm glad to see there's some enthusiasm for it!
