My computer is just being horrible to me. After my editing software crashing, most of my pay softwares stopping working, and my sims game stop working, I am ready to kill my computer which supposedly one of the better ones around. I have decided to uninstall and reinstall my games, but how can I do this without losing my downloads? There is just two neighbourhoods with all my stories in them and I don't want to lose them. So...... basically.... what files would I have to save and keep a back up of to not lose them? Thaannkkss, Kay xx

Simple . Go too: C:\Users\[Your Username Here]\Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2After you go here, look for your Downloads folder. Either drag it to your Desktop (or where ever you want to keep your Sims 2 backup files) or cut and paste it. For Neighbourhoods, go too: C:\Users\[Your Username Here]\Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\NeighborhoodsIDK which Neighbourhood is which, so you might as well just drag out all the files that start with 'N' and do the same as with the Downloads folder, drag it to where your keeping your backup files. After this, just uninstall your games and reinstall them all. After you reinstall all of them, you'll first have to open up your Sims game to get all the folders to show up. Then, close Sims and place your Neighbourhood folders and Downloads folder back in their designated areas. Reopen Sims, and enable Custom Content. Close it, reopen it, and there you go! Hope this helped (and wasn't TOO confusing..), and if you have any questions at all just ask xP.

The steps posted above are the ones to follow, however, if everything is crashing then I would have a thorough check for viruses on your PC. As you're an avid webs.com user, you may have picked up one of the many that are hidden on that site, mainly in the adverts

Sounds like you are in need to wipe the entire hard drive possibly. I doubt the game all by itself would cause such chaos. Do you defrag your hard drive periodically? And yeah, could be what someone else said, a nasty ole virus. The game wouldn't crash all those other software programs.
