General
Name: Renee McCullough
Age: 26
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Eye Color: Green
Hair Color: Dark brown/black
Occupation: Renee is employed at the Gregory Manor Hotel, though he would like to find something more steady and of better pay.
Personality
Sport/Hobby: Renee likes to run, especially on the beach. When punishing himself, he will make sure to run in the dry sand instead of the wet, putting more of a physical strain on his body. He also loves basketball, and can hold his own in a game of one-on-one.
Likes: Renee likes spending time in the presence of people whenever and wherever possible; he has never found any fascination in being by his lonesome in his apartment. However, there is one exception to this, and that is when he is reading, in which case he should be left undisturbed. Accordingly, the vast collection of tomes that reside in their cardboard boxes throughout his apartment is his prized possession, and, as if they weren't enough, he loves the library. Yet this is almost as much as he loves alcohol. It has been a problem for him, though he hasn't quite given it the proper recognition yet. Also, he is very into women and has thus had an unhealthy amount of relationships, though the term can only be used relative to his own love life. He always has an eye out—though not for a life-long partner, but rather for the next prettiest thing to cross his path. The only person he really holds any true love and respect for is his elderly grandfather.
Dislikes: Ignorance and plain stupidity in others probably top the list here for Renee, along with his own feminine-sounding name. He also isn't very fond of the fact that he needs glasses, either, and, accordingly, he wears his contacts whenever possible. He does not like to be ignored, nor does he like when others dismiss him as wrong, though he does enjoy the argument that inevitably follows. While it may seem as though he is opposed to the idea of having one steady girl in his life, he wouldn't object to it, if only he knew how to get it for himself. He doesn't particularly like blondes, though. Swimming also holds no spot dear to him. Most of all, however, he doesn't like Lake Owensway, though he can't seem to find a way out, either.
Background story: Renee has grown up in Lake Owensway his entire life. When his parents got divorced during his early years of high school, it was his mother who kept him, and his father who had given him up without a fight. She had previously left her career to be a wife and mother, and when it came time for her to return to the workforce some fifteen years later, she had few skills to fall back on, and thus she was forced to take up menial and low-paying jobs, often two or three at a time. A heavy alcoholic to-boot, she was later found dead in the caves off the seashore, with too little evidence to correctly call it an accident or a suicide. Since then, Renee's grandfather has been overseeing his grandson into the adult years of his life, though as the time has passed and the elder has gotten even more elderly, Renee has instead come to find himself his grandfather's guardian, stuck among his books in the small apartment that they share. He wants a better life than what he sees for himself in Lake Owensway, but he has never been able to escape.
Personality: Aggressive, impulsive, and apathetic by nature, Renee takes pleasure in starting trouble, often coming off as a jerk to both those who know him and those who don't. Here, his quick-to-talk mentality plays a large hand. But even when his mouth sputter lands him in hot water, or leads to your split lip and his black eye, he prides himself in ticking you off—and he wears that grin across his face as a reminder to you of that. He is anything but shy. His transparency in voice and action makes him a rather genuine character, albeit scathingly honest and bitingly sarcastic, though he is nothing if not incredibly intelligent. This he is most proud of and, ironically, also most humbled.
