Okay, so. My family got a new 64-bit desktop last week, and I installed the base game without any compatibility issues. It ran the game; I used Body Shop once or twice. However, when I went to install University and Nightlife this morning, it was as though the computer didn't recognize the disks (there's nothing wrong with my disks, for the record). I guess my question is if recognition is truly the issue, and if it has anything to do with Windows 7.
The situation is as follows: when I put the disk in the drawer, the computer made a sort of screeching/grinding sound, and then settled back down. Then it said to please insert the disk, despite the fact that the disk was already in the drive. Also, I uninstalled all of the games from my computer, attempted to reinstall the base game. Now I'm getting the same screeching/not recognizing issue. Does anybody know if this is this a compatibility error? Or a separate issue with the computer perhaps?
And I have another question, as well. I got a laptop for college next year, and I don't really want to install TS2 on it because I worry that it'll slow it down, etc. But I'll try if I can't get the desktop working. How well does TS2 run on laptops? It's a good machine. 64-bit, i5 core, 8 GB RAM, at least half a terabyte of storage (if not much more). Not sure about the graphics card, other than that I know it's shared. (Also, I don't know for sure if this computer is compatible, either.)
Thank you!
