Okay, so I've never before had this happen to me, and while I think it's very adorable, it really gets in the way of picture-taking (because it has a weird texture to it). This sort of animation/movie starts to play whenever my Sims do something cute, such as have their first kiss, get married, graduate, etc. It engulfs the whole screen and I can't exit it until it's over. Does this happen to most people? Because, as I said, it's never happened to me before. Also, is there some way to turn this off? I looked in the options quick but I didn't see anything.

HEY! When I saw stop animation you gave me a GREAT idea! ;D Thanks for that. Here is where you can get rid of the movie view: The "special action" will still play but you can do other things like play with other characters.

Well, you have to go to Camera Options, and there will be a box that says 'Special Event Camera...enabled/disabled' and you click 'disabled' to stop the cut scenes from happening. Default setting is 'Enabled', and it happens whenever Sims have babies, get married, have their first kiss, go to college, etc. If you turn it off, this cut scene will not happen. Hope this helped, since my instructions are quite lame...
EDIT: Oh yes, and if you have it disabled, you are fully able to take pictures with it and not have that "weird texture."

It's so weird how some things will work in some people's games and some won't. I've had these movies since day one, but when my cousin played my game she was surprised when they came on because her game had never done that before. It's just very odd.
Anyway, I've read that there was supposed to be a way you could get rid of them in the options tab, but like you, when I tried to search for it I couldn't find anything. Hmm... let me try to look for that thread that I read it on (I think it was on the Sims 2 website, so I don't know how successful I'll be :/) and see if I missed something. EDIT: Nevermind, I see people have figured it out. ;D lol

Ah, thank you guys! I didn't even think to look under camera options, for some strange reason. I'll try it out tomorrow. HEY! When I saw stop animation you gave me a GREAT idea! ;D Thanks for that. Haha, sounds intriguing. You're welcome, I suppose? It's so weird how some things will work in some people's games and some won't. I think it's because I was playing on a very old computer before, and it must not have liked those heavy graphics...or something? I don't know, but I must have never had my special event camera on. I was so thrown off the first time it happened (but very impressed, to be honest).

My game has always done those sceanes from the beginning, but after a while they randomly stopped when I fixed my camera options to what a video-maker recommended. I missed them, and now I know how to get them back (: ! Thanks everyone.
